Visualizing Data in StellarAi

Data Visualizations:

Prior to analyzing or visualizing data, it is necessary to understand the following terminology:

Data Analysis Group: Analysis group is a virtual container, of the analysis that the User is planning to perform on the test data for verifying the Test results. It is defined as follows:
  1. What to Analyze: Parameters
  1. How to Analyze: Threshold Analysis, Graphical Analysis, Algorithmic Analysis. Every Analysis type has a configuration, which can be configured to tweak the analysis.
  1. Data on which to perform Analysis: Select Files for Analysis. Every Analysis yields one or more results in form of Graphs and Information tables. One project can have as many Data Analysis Groups as required.
  1. Cycles: A cycle is a unit of Analysis. It could be interpreted differently for different tests, for example, If an engine performance test is being conducted every 8 hours and the total test duration is 24 hours; the analysis of the data can have 3 test cycles of 8 hours each, configured in a data analysis group. A separate graph is generated for each test cycle. If a vehicle is undergoing reliability test and is driven (tested) across various locations for 7 days, Users may want to have analysis for each day at the end of the day, users can create 7 cycles for the that analysis group and add files for each day in each cycle.

To analyze test data:

1. In the left pane, click Data Analysis icon.

2. From the Project List, select a project.

3. On the Data Analysis tab, click Add Analysis. Select Analysis Group

4. Enter a name for the analysis group.

5. Click on Select Parameter, select one or more parameters. The selected parameters are displayed on Select Parameter textbox.

6. Click Save Changes.

7. Under Cycles, click Add Files

8. Click Add Cycles to add multiple test cycles.

9. Click Add Files for each cycle and select the files that you want to add.

Note: Data analysis can be automated using the Automate check box. The Automate feature is activated when an entire dataset is selected as an input for an analysis group. The Automate automatically updates the results of all relevant Analysis Groups when any new files are added to the corresponding data set.

10. To add a graph, click Add Graph under the Graphs tab, and select Graph Type (Line / Pie / Histogram / Bubble / 3D line / Heatmap /Bar)

To draw 3D Line/Heatmap/Bar graph, three or more than three parameters are mandatory.

11. Next, under Select Parameter, choose one or more parameters from the dropdown list.

Note: The drop-down list under Select Parameter only displays a list of parameters selected in Step 5. If you need to add more parameters, go back to Step 5, and add the desired parameters and click Save Changes.

12. (Recommended) Keep the Auto Settings check box selected. However, if needed, the Auto Settings check box can be cleared and custom settings for the graph can be specified.

Following graph settings can be customized at this step:
  1. Select X axis: Select X axis reference from the dropdown list
  2. Graph View: Toggle between Subplot & Multiple Y.
See examples below:

1. Subplot:

(Parameters ‘Engine RPM’ & ‘Intake Air Temperature’ with Subplot)

2. Multiple Y:

(Parameters ‘Engine RPM’ & ‘Intake Air Temperature’ with Multiple Y)

3. Start & End Scales for Selected Parameters:

4. Click Apply.

A separate graph is created for each cycle of the data analysis group. Graphs for subsequent cycles can be viewed using the arrows as highlighted below.
